This round is a qualifying Olympiad for students from Kazakhstan who want to take part in the European Mathematical Cup (EMC). The European Mathematical Cup (abbr: EMC) is an international Olympiad for students organized by the Croatian Association of Young Gifted Mathematicians. This year it is held 9th time around the world. After the competition, and the preliminary check, the organizers send the results of the top students of each league to Zagreb for a final check. After the final screening of the work, the best students around the world receive medals and diplomas. The competition is divided into two categories: juniors (students under 17 on the day of the competition and those who did not participate in the Final Round of National Olympiad) and seniors (other high school students). A student who meets the criteria to compete as a junior may choose to compete as a senior. To participate at EMC, you must complete the qualifying round on the MathForces website on Sunday, December 6 from 18:00 to 20:00 Astana time. Not only people from Kazakhstan can participate in the Olympiad, which is why, participants from Kazakhstan must additionally fill in this form.
  1. To participate in the junior league, you must solve at least 3 problems on the qualifying round.
  2. To participate in the senior league, you must solve at least 4 problems on the qualifying round.

  • Anyone can participate in the Olympiad (However, only students from Kazakhstan can participate in the qualification for the EMC (who have filled in this form ).
  • At any time before the first attempt to submit a problem, you can cancel registration for the Olympiad.
  • To participate in the Olympiad, you need to click "Register for the Olympiad" on the Olympiad page. In this case, you must first log into your account (and confirm your email)
  • You have 5 attempts to solve each problem.
  • Each task weighs from 100 to 2000 points
  • The faster the problem is solved, the lower your penalty coefficient for this problem will be, that is, the faster you solve the problem, the more points you will get on it.
  • If the problem is solved correctly, you will be redirected back to the Olympiad page and see the rating changes in the "Position" tab
  • If the problem is solved incorrectly, you will see a corresponding notification and the number of remaining attempts will decrease by one. After the end of the Olympiad, the restriction will disappear.
